Recording rounds
Stroke play or Stableford, 9 or 18 holes, solo or with several players.
Creating a new round
As soon as at least one player and a course with a layout and tee set exist, you can record a round. When creating it you choose:
- Date of the round
- Format – stroke play or Stableford
- Number of holes – 9 or 18
- Course, layout and, for each player, the tee (tee set)
- Players – one or several
In the course selection, courses in your country are listed first (based on the region in your system settings), and the "Favorites Only" switch hides all other courses.
You set the default round type for new rounds in Settings (stroke play or Stableford). You can still switch it per round.
Handicap index for this round
For each player you can set a handicap index for this round in the round details. If you leave it unchanged, the app automatically uses the player's current handicap index.
This matters especially when you record past rounds later and your handicap has changed since: it lets you capture the value that applied at the time the round was played. This keeps the handicap strokes, net results and score differential of that round accurate.
Values per hole
For each hole you record per player:
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Strokes | Gross number of strokes on the hole |
| Putts | Number of putts on the green |
| Penalty strokes | e.g. for a lost ball or water hazard |
| GIR | Green in regulation – green reached as expected |
| Fairway | hit, missed left or missed right (only where applicable, not on par 3s). Hit equals FIR – fairway in regulation |
| Bunker | greenside bunker found – the basis for bunker cost in the analysis |
The Stableford points (gross and net) are calculated automatically from your strokes, the par and your handicap strokes. You don't need to enter them yourself.
Fairway and bunker make up the extended capture. It is on by default and can be switched off in Settings if you prefer to record faster. Values already entered are kept and still count towards your stats – the setting controls the input only, not the analysis.
For the fairway you pick one of three states: hit, missed left or missed right. Only the greenside bunker is recorded, not every bunker. That distinction is unambiguous while playing and keeps the stat comparable.
Hole status: played, not played, picked up
Every hole carries a status. New rounds start as not played and switch automatically to played as soon as you enter a result.
In Stableford you can mark a hole as picked up when no more points are possible. A picked-up hole does not count towards the gross stroke totals, but it is scored as a net double bogey and keeps the round handicap-complete. The entry screen shows you which value the hole counts as.
Fast entry
Entering hole results is built for speed. Strokes and putts come pre-filled with sensible values (net par and two putts) that you can confirm as you move on. The − and + buttons let you adjust a value quickly.
On iPhone, tapping a hole opens an input wheel: set strokes, putts and penalty strokes by swiping, with strokes pre-set to net par. The same wheel also lets you mark a hole as not played or picked up. GIR is still calculated automatically.
Several players in one round
You can assign several players to a round. Each player gets their own hole results, their own tee and their own analysis. In the analysis and group comparison they are then all considered individually.

After the round: a short read
Once a round is complete, the round view shows a section called Round Insights with up to four statements in plain sentences. For example that holes with a greenside bunker cost you more strokes than the rest, or that your GIR rate was the best of your recent rounds. It compares against your last ten rounds and names strengths as well as weaknesses.
An assessment needs at least three earlier rounds. Below that the section stays hidden rather than claiming a trend from two rounds. Everything is calculated on your device.
Handicap relevance and round status
You can mark each player round as handicap-relevant or exclude it. Only handicap-relevant rounds feed into the calculation of your handicap index; they are marked accordingly in the round list.
A round can also be complete, incomplete (not all holes recorded) or abandoned. This keeps even unfinished rounds cleanly documented.
