Backup, iCloud sync & languages
Back up your data, sync across devices and use the app in your language.
Full backup
Using the export function you can create a complete backup of all your data as a JSON file at any time – including players, groups, courses, rounds and all hole results. You can import this file again on another Mac or iPhone.
When restoring you can choose between merging (the imported data is added to the existing data) and a full restore (the existing data is replaced).
iCloud sync
If you are signed in with the same Apple ID on iPhone and Mac, NicerGolfJournal syncs your data automatically via iCloud. Record a round on the iPhone while you're out and analyze it later on the Mac – without any manual transfer.
- The last import, export and sync time is visible directly in the main window.
- If needed, the data can be reloaded manually.
Requirement: an active iCloud account on all devices.
Backup or iCloud – which is for what?
The two complement each other:
- iCloud sync keeps your devices continuously on the same state.
- The backup is your deliberate safeguard – ideal before major changes or when moving to a new device.
Languages
NicerGolfJournal is available in five languages: English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. The app automatically follows your device's language setting – there is nothing to switch.
Appearance and dark mode
NicerGolfJournal comes with a full dark mode with specially tuned colors. In the settings you choose whether the app follows the system setting or stays fixed on Light or Dark. The choice applies on iPhone and Mac and takes effect immediately, on the Mac also for the settings, about and start windows.
