A look inside the app
Selected views of NicerGolfJournal on iPhone and Mac – centred on the new Analysis view introduced in version 1.2.
Overview
With version 1.2, analysis moves to the centre: overview, statistics categories, trends and group comparison are now bundled into a single Analysis view. The screenshots below show it alongside players, groups, courses and rounds – iPhone and Mac views placed side by side.
Analysis – Overview
Analysis is the entry point of the app. The overview shows your key metrics at a glance – rounds, handicap index, strokes per hole, GIR and putts – each with the change versus the previous period. The fixed filter bar lets you switch between single and comparison mode.

Analysis – Categories & Trends
Behind the Scoring, Driving, Short game, Putting and Holes categories sit detailed metrics such as GIR, FIR, scrambling, three-putt rate and par-3/4/5 and front/back-9 averages. Trend charts with a clearly visible trend line show your development over time.

Group Comparison
In comparison mode the players of a group sit side by side, with the best value per metric highlighted. A group becomes a comparison lens for rounds played together.

Players & Groups
Players are recorded with handicap, home club and avatar. A player can now belong to several groups – and from a group you jump straight into the comparison.

Courses
Course management represents courses in a structured way with layouts, tee sets and ratings. This keeps even more complex facilities tidy and makes them analysable per course and layout.

Round Insights
After a completed round the app sums up in plain sentences what stood out. It compares against your recent rounds and names strengths as well as weaknesses.

Rounds
Rounds can be recorded in a structured way and analysed later in detail. The app is designed for different round types and course configurations.

Import and export
Data can be backed up, restored and exchanged in part. This makes both backups and the exchange of course data easy.
